2009年1月13日 · Allow me to be the first to offer up a modification to the CGEM. I just took delivery of one and first impressions are positive. Having owned a CG5ASGT, LXD75 and a CGE, I can say this mount is nicely sized. I would never consider mounting my 140mm refractor on either the CG5ASGT or the LXD75. The CGEM is considerably more massive.

2024年11月30日 · While you can likely improve the guiding of your system (they primary reason for performing a HyperTune), the CGEM is not well suited for imaging with a C11HD. The C9.25HD is not much better.

In 2019, in an attempt to improve the autoguiding performance of my german equatorial mount, I went through the process of retrofitting my Celestron CGEM to . My goal was to validate if the stock CGEM could potentially have better tracking and guiding performance by replacing motors/gearbox, spur gears, electronics & firmware.

2017年10月29日 · I am thinking of removing the motors and keeping them as spares for my working CGEM, and replacing the insides with an OnStep system, using the TMC2130 drivers, teensy 3.2, and stepper motors.
