Jan 23, 2025 · £550 in the UK for an Indonesian-made basic Jazz bass feels very extortionate, as I can't imagine they'll be that much better than Squier basses from presumably the same factory, but I guess a MIM Player II bass is £750 new.

Let's talk about that speaker. When I started planning this project, I really balked at the idea of putting a super-expensive driver in it. It just seemed…too overboard. Maybe I'm just cheap, but most combos and practice amps don't have top-of-the-line drivers in them, so I wondered if I was just encountering online speaker snobbery.

Jan 28, 2025 · I play narrow nut width and tight string spacing basses - jazz basses and stingray 5s (17.5mm spacing). The 5 string SP1 was a bit too wide for me, but the 4 string was no problem at all. 35" to 32" scale was super comfortable paired with the small P body.
