They are a blast to run early and late season, or anytime it’s not so cold out that the line on your reel is freezing up after a fish or two. More and more of these warm ice days every year it seems… running strait fluorocarbon can reduce freeze up.

2024年12月2日 · My rigs are mostly bait casting reel set ups. Anything heavier than 1/16th oz. I can let the rig sink pull itself. At 1/32nd oz. weight it's really slow so often I hand pull the line itself. At 1/64th oz. or lighter I have to hand pull the line from a spinning reel anyway so the straight line from the bait casting reel actually sinks faster.

2020年11月24日 · Hot Sauce is just a light synthetic lube, like most light oils now are, ie; Frabill Sub-Zero, Reel-X, etc. Same reason ya don't use heavy grease on snowblower parts. I've had no issues, but I put my lube (A liquid PTFE used on bikes) at the main points every season...the bail roller, bail pivot, handle shaft, handle thumb grip, and main rotor ...

2014年2月6日 · Over all, the eagle claw reel is a very good designed reel, especially for the money, the engineering is there. well, maybe it's there to begin with and company just pick up this reel for us ice fishing crowd. All the key part of inside the reel is made of metal, gears are made of brass, should be quite durable if the plastic parts don't crack.

Yes, the drag stinks, but you can just palm the open side like a fly reel. My bait clicker broke but I never really used it anyway. I would suggest taking the reel apart and de-greasing, then lubing it up with better ...
