2009年6月8日 · While the .270 win. is a great whitetail round, I'm wondering how well it works on larger hogs. I've only killed a few big pigs with a .270 and had "mixed" results. A couple tipped right over where they stood and a couple ran a ways (50-75 yards) before giving up. All were shot with 130gr. Remington Cor-Lokt ammo.

2009年8月3日 · Hogs have thick skulls, and depending on the angle of the shot, it certainly could glance off at an angle without penetrating- that happened to my uncle using a .357 mag. It really depends what part of the skull you hit - I've seen hogs hit through the ear with a .22 mag that penetrated the skull and killed it.

2020年4月23日 · 22 WMR for wild hogs You are correct. Those are "Idiotic Rules". I have hunted wild hogs in TN and once saw a large boar that was killed by my buddy. When we went to the taxidermist to have the head mounted, he found a 38 spl slug embedded in the boars skull right between the eyes. It had healed around the slug. I witnessed this first hand.
