2012年10月3日 · Alfalfa gross per acre in previous years. = $1050. Alfalfa gross per acre this year= $1250. Grass hay gross per acre in previous years = $1050. Grass hay gross per acre this year= $1500. That's with 3 cuttings of the grass hay and 4 cuttings of the alfalfa. And one of those cuttings of grass was pretty crappy due to lack of irrigation water.

Here in NW Ga, there are so many landowners who will give you access to a field for $0 so that they do not have to maintain it, there is virtually no market for paid ground. As you move to middle and south GA, there is more agriculture, so the market is probably different.

2022年12月16日 · 1) Bale dry hay at 15% or lower and let it sweat for 4-6 weeks under tarp and off the ground. 2) Wrap in black plastic and do not cut a slit in it. 3) Try to keep it shaded to reduce swings in temperature once wrapped. 4) I am going to try to bale 40% moisture hay and see if my baler will do it, then wrap immediately in white plastic.

2016年7月24日 · Have used two different ones -- canvas & sponge. The canvas was the first one and started out with it on an ATV. For hay fields, the ATV thumb throttle was wearisome so Jeff made a mounting bracket to use on the back of the 40 John Deere. When we got the sponge type Jeff built all the frame to also use on the JD 40.
