So I sat down on my hive watching crate, took my veil off, and enjoyed a snack while I watched bees for a bit. Bananas have no apparent effect on my bees. My bees are not your bees. Your bees live in a different place, and may be a different race.

The bees need salt for their own metabolic processes, and to carry back to their hives to help larvae develop. 2019年3月31日 · Just wanted to point out that there is a difference between red clover and crimson clover. The bees do work crimson. A few years ago one of my mentees put a single hive in a 20 acre field of solid crimson clover. He ended up with eight hives by the end of Summer. The bees did really well!

2021年9月7日 · I believe it was Randy Oliver who said that we should treat with a goal of having 2 cycles of bees relatively mite free before they begin producing winter bees. The idea is that the nurse bees nurturing the developing winter bee larvae are as healthy and vigorous as possible. I think that idea is pretty much on the money.

2005年5月10日 · I have about 20 trees, some within 4-5 feet of my hives now. I spray diazinon (I have my private applicators license) and malathion along with some fungicides. I usually spray early morning when there is no wind and the bees are not flying much. I don't spray until after petal drop. Read and spray using label instructions.

The difference is treating only the ground for ticks versus all the shrubbery, which act as resting sites for mosquitoes. However, these shrubs bloom a lot of times, attracting your bees, causing more non-target deaths.
