Zlín (in 1949–1989 Gottwaldov; Czech pronunciation: [zliːn]; German: Zlin) is a city in the Czech Republic. It has about 74,000 inhabitants. It is the seat of the Zlín Region and it lies on the Dřevnice River. It is known as an industrial centre.

Leží v údolí řeky Dřevnice na rozhraní Hostýnských a Vizovických vrchů. Je centrem Zlínského kraje. V samotném městě žije přibližně 74 tisíc[1] obyvatel (11. největší v ČR), v jeho aglomeraci poté asi 130 tisíc obyvatel.

Zlín, the administrative center of the Zlín region, lies along the river Dřevnice in a mild climatic area of southeastern Moravia. It is also a crossroad for the ethnographic boundaries of the Wallachian, Hana and Moravian Slovak regions. This region of 590,000 inhabitants became famous for more reasons than its advantageous location.
