2010年10月15日 · In 1974 Federico Faggin left Intel after working on the 8-bit 8080 processor. He formed a company called ZiLOG and developed a much improved version of the 8080 called the Z80. It was released in 1976 after only 18 months of design. The Z80 was faster, cheaper, and simpler to build around then the 8080 and enjoyed extremely wide use.

2025年3月10日 · Zilog Z8 is an 8-bit microcontroller with integrated clock oscillator, two timers/counters, serial line and 32 I/O lines (4 ports). The Z8 had separate data and program memory spaces. Internal program memory of the Z8 ranged from 0 KB (for ROMless version) to 4 KB, and it could be expanded up to 64 KB of program memory using external ROM.
