The ZB-30 and ZB-30J were Czechoslovakian light machine guns that saw extensive use during World War II. The Zb 30 and Zb 30J were the later versions of the famous Czechoslovak machine gun, the ZB-26. However, the ZB-30 had some design differences, making it similar to the later ZGB-33, which was an early prototype of the Bren gun. [6] .

The gas-operated, air-cooled ZB-30 LMG proved ideal in the modern, mobile warfare and it could mow down very easy enemy troops at far ranges. The weapon could be tripod-mounted for sustained fire at distant targets or on a bipod for squad use.

The Romanians received around 18.000 models from the Czechs and another 5000 were built under licence in Romania, which gave the Romanians enough light machine guns to equip their army in time for the invasion of Russia.
