The Shanglin Lake Yue Kilns (Chinese: 上林湖越窑遗址) are a cluster of archaeological sites where Yue ware was made, though they are by no means the only ones. They are located near Shanglin Lake, in Cixi City, Zhejiang, China. The kilns produced celadon around the Shanglin Lake area during the Tang, Han, and Song dynasties are referred to as such. [1] .

As the extraordinary artisanship of the ancient Chinese porcelain, the Yue Kiln Sites at Shanglin Lake is one of significant kiln complex in Chinese celadon production history, and had a profound impact on the development of celadon making across China, Japan and the Korean Peninsula.

These kilns displayed distinctive regional characteristics and extremely advanced craftsmanship, and they accomplished unprecedented artistic achievements. During the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, the porcelain industry became more thriving and prosperous.

These were the most important and large-scale celadon kilns in the first half of Chinese ceramic history. As the name Yuezhou suggests, these kilns originated in the Yue region, centering on Shaoxing in Zhejiang Province, but as the period progressed, the kiln techniques spread to various regions in Jiangnan, and many Yuezhou celadon kilns emerged.
