Yo-Yo Lin (林友友) is a Taiwanese-American, interdisciplinary media artist who explores the possibilities of self-knowledge in the context of emerging, embodied technologies. Lin often uses video, animation, live performance, and lush sound design to create meditative ‘memoryscapes.’

To the audience, Lin poses a series of questions: What channels exist within ourselves that connect us to ancestral ways of knowing? Can pain be a portal, and care a feedback loop? What are the electrical currents that we signal to one another, reminding us that even in continued isolation, we are not alone?

‘The walls of my room are curved’ is a movement-generated sonic performance of the body living with a connective tissue disorder. The performance uses several microphones attached to the dancer’s moving body, capturing the live sounds of creaking and crackling bones and joints as they shift, transfer, extend, and rotate.
