Yeesookyung, an artist who lives and works in Seoul, Korea, constantly reinvents her practice through various media such as painting, sculpture, performance, and video. She received her formal education as a painter at Seoul National University and graduated into a Korean art world that was rigidly polarized between two ideological extremes.

Using a labor-intensive approach, Yeesookyung reconstructs organic, intricate sculptures from discarded ceramic fragments—pieces initially crafted by master ceramists who destroy any vases with even the slightest imperfections.
