Yakurr is in South South Nigeria. Yakurr was created out of the Obubra LGA in 1987 and it shares a boundary with Abi, Obubra, Biase and Akamkpa Local Government Areas of Cross River State, Nigeria. It is composed of 13 wards and is inhabited by the Agoi, Ibami Assign, Mkpani, Ekon, Nko Ugep and Idomi people with the dominant language being Yakurr.

2015年11月6日 · That is why this post has been aimed at giving us a brief insight about the history of the great Yakurr community, a community in Cross river state, Nigeria. The Yakurr community comprises of nine clans which include: Assiga, Inyima, Ugep, Idom, Ibami, Agoi, Ekori, Nko and Agoi Ekpo.

Each of the five Yak ö towns was, prior to British rule, a politically independent unit, and the people began to refer to themselves as "Yakurr," instead of identifying themselves by the name of their town, only in the postindependence years.

Yakö, people of the Cross River region of eastern Nigeria; they speak Luko, a language of the Benue-Congo branch of the Niger-Congo family. The Yakö are mainly yam farmers; subsidiary crops include cocoyams (taro), corn (maize), okra, and pumpkin. The main cash crop is palm oil.
