2020年11月15日 · Lloyd, The Sterling Yak 9 was a good flyer, it was about 1959 or 60 when all the guys were building 35 size profile models. Frank had a Yak 9, Nick had the Mustang, Keith had a Ringmaster and I had a PDQ Super Clown. We all had either McCoy or Fox 35s.

2008年8月24日 · I have a Yak-9 about to be finished and am planning on using either an LA .25 or an FP .20 with tube mufflers on either engine once flying. I have flown both the P-51's and Ringmasters on these engines and have found them to be most adequate power plants.

2013年6月18日 · I'm just getting started on a Sterling Yak-9 and already have a problem with the wing. All of the old kit plywood parts have de-bonded so I'm using fresh ply to re-make them, including the rectangular braces behind the angled LE joint and the center joint of the two spar sticks. My birch ply is much stiffer than the old kit wood.

2025年3月12日 · I have laser cut ribs for the Sterling Mustang and Yak 9 planes. I believe these are cut the way the plane was originally done and not modernized. Plans can be downloaded off of the Internet. $15 for a set of ribs only. I can bring to the NATS. Otherwise shipping would probably be $5 to $10.

2008年2月15日 · In so far as the Brodak versions of the Yak-9 and the Mustang P-51/F-51 are concerned both are direct copies of the original Sterling Models Kits as issued. There may be misprints of dimensions on their boxes and plans but the final products result in absolutely OTS Legal model airplanes!

2012年2月24日 · The Yak 1, 7 , & 9 were the Yakovlev ' heavy ' Fighters . 1M , late 7 & 9 have ' bubble ' canopy , and 3 . 9s a development of 7 ( Late 7 & 9 indistinguishable ), 7 is development of 1 . 3 is lightweight late war development of 1 . 11 is post war radial engined 3. By Golly . So essentially any schemes addaptable , colourwise .

2012年9月19日 · Mike's Yak 9 plans show Silver Fox 40 as the base motor. Having never seen or heard of such motor I am trying to figure out what kind of motor would be equivalent in terms of power and weight. Can anyone educate me on what kind of motor Silver Fox was. Logged
