2017年4月24日 · Currently, when using my VX-8DR, I can listen to stereo and also dual watch (which I know the FT1XDR also does), but the VX-8DR lets me use a standard headphone and listen in stereo and plays the two monitored frequencies in separate channels - A freq plays in left audio and B freq plays in right audio channel.

2017年4月24日 · The 2200mah battery that comes with the XD is a definite improvement over the 1800mah in the X. I do have a few batteries and the drop-in charger and all are conveniently compatible with my VX-8. Fusion-wise I mostly use mine with the DV4-Mini so L1 tx power (100mw) is sufficient.

2021年8月23日 · I'd love to see a single-band analog FM HT with the receiver performance of the old Icom IC-V8, but in the size and durability of the Yaesu VX-7r, and with a BNC antenna connector. I doubt they'd sell many though. People buying basic HTs are typically buying chinese radios. Folks buy the more expensive Japanese HTs are looking for additional ...

2018年12月16日 · I also found that the battery indicator shows level worse than it really is. Yaesu or a 3rd-party battery supplier could easily double the battery thickness and yet retain a reasonably slim profile and remain comfortable in the hand. If Yaesu doesn't do it, someone else will -- probably on eBay. Necessity is still the mother of invention.

2021年8月17日 · I'll keep my Yaesu VX-5 It covers 6 meters 2 meters and 440 with 5 watts. It also receives HF. I don't need 6 types of squelch and difficult programming and a radio that's just annoying to setup. People have been clamoring for an easy to program radio, for years, to no avail from the manufacturers.

They are intended to work vertically on FM with my VX-7, but my buddy uses the one I gave him on SSB by hanging it horizontally (or more accurately, by hanging it vertically then pulling it to roughly horizontal via the feedline).
