Feb 2, 2023 · Got the xm5 recently after using the XM4 for a year for work and gaming. The XM5 is a lot more comfortable for long duration (less sweaty, less hot for ears). The Xm5 sound is also better to me and slightly louder. However for gaming the XM5 is worse for spatial sounds (ie: for shooters, spotting the direction of a sounds).

Oct 9, 2022 · While the xm5 was within the return period, I saw a XM4 on sale for only 160 gbp which was new and still sealed in the box. I was tempted to check that out and bought it. To conclude, xm5 was definitely a bit lighter and the earcups fit better around my really large ears. But for everything else I found xm4 to be as good as xm5.

Dec 7, 2022 · I have both xm4 and xm5 and for sound quality I have found xm5 to be better. I dont have glasses but for me xm5 are more comfortable and can wear them all day without fatigue. For 50£ price difference I would go with xm5, if the store has good return policy you could just get both and return the ones you dont like.

Jun 7, 2022 · XM5 vs XM4: Not even close. The second I compared the two (three actually) headphones, the XM4 were miles better, which supports the claim that the XM3 are better than the H.ear On 2. I understand Sony has the XM5 ANC on auto, so it needs to kick into high settings to get there, but why? Why let the app decide what I want and don't want to hear.

Currently I have a pair of Skull candy Hesh 2 wireless. I'm mostly interested in the noise cancelling. It's hard to study in my loud af house and I want to get these headphones to cancel them out.

May 17, 2022 · The XM4 offers multipoint connecting, the auto pause sensor and the ability to use LDAC and the Sony Headphones app EQ simultaneously. IMO the XM3 sound slightly bassier than the XM4 , but other than that there is not much difference in their sound. If the features mentioned above are things that you would like, choose the XM4.

Oct 18, 2023 · Bose qc Ultra > Sony XM4 and 5 for sound, ANC (with the Ultra) build quality, sound quality (but not by much, you can hear it tho) Sony XM5 and 4 > Bose qc Ultra for call (best mic quality on BT headphone i ever hear), transparent mode (only the xm5), and the tactile buttons are more advanced and intuitive than the Bose's imo.
