The patent you're talking about is not an external disc drive. It would use a physical Xbox (that does have a disc drive) on the same LAN as the Series S to do the validation.

2022年4月29日 · Very strange, I don't think I would have been able to install it on the Xbox app if the console did not read the disc, especially since it's a disc only game. So now that it's installed the Xbox should be reading the disc. This ontop of the fact there is regional outages right now makes me wonder if this is just a temporary software/XBL issue.
