But they are still a good bike regardless, just of a certain era. Oh, and with most Yamaha XT's, the motors go soft and gutless due to the compression rings wearing out fast.

2011年4月22日 · YZ has had disk brakes for a long, long time, longer than the XT550 has been around, IIRC. Mind posting a photo? ETA: my bad, YZ's got the front disk in 1985, in 84 there was only a YZ80 (at least according to my semi-complete parts reference), in 82 the YZ80-250 were drum brakes. Still, a photo would help. In stock form, it's a darn tall bike.
