XHRIO changed from Telemundo to UPN on May 1, 1999, switching with KTLM. In 2012, the Fox affiliation was moved to the American station KFXV-LD and XHRIO-TV became a charter affilate of MundoFox. Following the shutdown of MundoMax in 2016, XHRIO-TV became a CW affiliate. XHRIO-TDT changed its position on the dial from 2.1 to 15.1.
