2014年3月23日 · Does anyone have a set of large scale plans for the Chance Vought XF5U-1 Flying Flapjack? I have requested the original prints from the NASM for study. Smaller scale plans could be enlarged, if need be. I would like to build one with a 36" span ( not including the ailevons in that measurement). Any help or technical information greatly appreciated.

2018年5月11日 · At 1:6.5 scale I've got a ~60 inch wingspan. However, total width of the plane from ailevator to ailevator is ~83 inches, and from propeller tip to propeller tip it will be ~92 inches. Wing area at this size is 3,110 square inches, and scale prop size is 40 inches.

2007年7月4日 · Assuming a 1" pitch diameter on the driver gear, a .25" pitch diameter on the follower gears, and a 1.5" pitch diameter on the annular gear, this setup should produce the desired ratio of 2.5:1. The conformal gearing system I mentioned earlier uses a circular shaped gear tooth, instead of the involute shape used in spur gearing.

2005年1月22日 · Typically, these are used with a 7.7 to 1 gearbox and a Speed 300 brushed motor. To improve the scale looks, I'd really like to omit the gear drives and go direct-drive with, say, a mega mig 280 motor, which on direct drive pulls 22 watts, 6 volts at 20,000 RPM with a 6x4 prop, giving a thrust of 7 ounces while pulling 6 amps.
