2022年2月4日 · Power=volts*amps, so the amps are limited, the X5 won't use more than 16A. So, doubling the voltage at the same amperage means double the power going in. The EVSE is a smart (sort of) on/off switch...the actual charging is entirely in the X5. You can think of the EVSE as a fancy extension cord to plug it into power.

2022年3月15日 · I understand the X5 45e comes with a charging cable that can be used on 110 or 240 volt. is there a need for an adapter plug if using it on 110 vs 240? if I already have an unused 240v receptacle with a 4 prong dryer (I believe 14-30R), can I have that easily modified to accept the charging...

I have a 2021 X5 45e. I've had it in the shop twice for "DriveTrain Malfunction" message. First time they changed the spark plugs, next time they said it was the high voltage battery, but when they checked the battery they said it was working fine, so they basically did nothing. Now on 8/4/2023, the message came on again.

2020年11月16日 · This is a great question. I just traded in my 2018 530e for an X5 45e. My biggest complaint with the 530e was the lack of trunk space. The batteries just took up too much space. When our family (of 4) traveled (even just to go to the airport), people had to hold bags in the backseat. However it is an interesting data point on the current valuation.

2023年2月26日 · I just purchased my X5 45e and I hope to get it around the end of March. From what I’ve read the charger supplied with the car will take 17 hours to fully charge a depleted battery. That charger is operating at a 10amp output. There are other chargers that you can use on a 110 volt 20 amp line that have a 16 amp output.

2022年4月18日 · Yeah, I was reading more and decided to set the limit to 10A, which is the max of the charger that BMW gave me for my 2023 X5 45e. The wall outlet is either a 15A or 20A outlet in the garage. I'm checking on the cost of a 220 outlet for a level 2 charger.
