Wobble base pair - Wikipedia
Wobble base pairs are fundamental in RNA secondary structure and are critical for the proper translation of the genetic code. In the genetic code, there are 4 3 = 64 possible codons (three- nucleotide sequences). For translation, each of these codons requires a tRNA molecule with an anticodon with which it can stably complement.
The Wobble Hypothesis: Definition, Statement, Significance
2023年8月17日 · The relaxed base-pairing requirement, or “wobble,” allows the anticodon of a single form of tRNA to pair with more than one triplet in mRNA. The rules: first base U can recognize A or G, first base G can recognize U or C, and first base I can recognize U, C or A.

Nature Communications - Wobble uridine (U34) tRNA modifications are important for the decoding of AA-ending codons. Here the authors show that while the U34-codon content of mRNAs are...
Novel base-pairing interactions at the tRNA wobble position
2016年1月21日 · We show that mnm5s2U forms an unusual pair with guanosine at the wobble position that expands general knowledge on the degeneracy of the genetic code and specifies a powerful role of tRNA ...
tRNA’s Wobble Decoding of the Genome: 40 Years of Modification
2007年2月9日 · Post-transcriptional modifications at tRNA's wobble position 34, especially modifications of uridine 34, enable wobble to occur. The Modified Wobble Hypothesis proposed in 1991 that specific modifications of a tRNA wobble nucleoside shape the anticodon architecture in such a manner that interactions were restricted to the complementary base ...
Wobble Hypothesis (With Diagram) | Genetics - Biology …
By direct sequence of several tRNA molecules, the wobble hypothesis is confirmed which explains the pattern of redundancy in genetic code in some anticodons (e.g. the anticodons containing U, I and G in the first position in 5’→ 3′ direction)
7.6: The Wobble Hypothesis - Biology LibreTexts
2024年10月15日 · In fact, in a study of E. coli's tRNA for alanine there is a wobble base pair that determines whether the tRNA will be aminoacylated. When a tRNA reaches an aminoacyl tRNA synthetase, the job of the synthetase is to join the t-shaped RNA with its amino acid.

The Wobble Hypothesis – Definition, Exaplanation, Importance
2024年6月24日 · The wobble hypothesis explains how fewer tRNA molecules can recognize multiple codons coding for the same amino acid. This reduces the number of tRNA species required for protein synthesis, streamlining the translation process and making it more efficient.
