WHSCRD was established in 1994 by a legislative amendment to the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Act (the Act) and is the final level of review within the workers’ compensation system in the Province. WHSCRD is an independent, quasi-judicial body, consisting of a panel of Review Commissioners and a Chief Review Commissioner.
