The airspace considered for the oceanic lateral separation reduction includes the West Atlantic Route System (WATRS), San Juan Flight Information Region (FIR), and the Miami ARTCC (ZMA) Oceanic FIR, referred to collectively hereinafter as WATRS Plus.

2023年9月19日 · The US FAA has officially renamed WATRS airspace in the West Atlantic, to simply WAT. Part 91K, 121, 125 and 135 operators will all be affected by the change. Existing B050 authorizations will be re-issued within 24 months.
Consult the Foreign State AIP for further information regarding operational requirements. Note 3: In addition to PBN/ information, NAV/ information may optionally be filed in order to indicate RNAV capability by phase of flight (departure, en route, arrival). This allows a filer to request RNAV proce-dures for only specific phases of flight.
Refer to State AIPs for airspace and/or routes where A353 is required. B036 provides the basic requirements for RNP10 and RNP4 using dual Long Range Navigation Systems installed and operational. Additional Ops Specs or LOA may be required depending on the airspace or special area of operation to be flown: Central East Pacific (CEP): B037.

Effective 28 March 2019, the In-Flight Contingency Procedures are changing only for the NAT region and the NY Oceanic West (WATRS) Oceanic Control Areas (OCAs). Contingency procedures in other OCAs remain unchanged. Per NAT Ops Bulletin 2018_005 Rev 1 dated 13 February 2019, the contingency procedure applies to the following OCAs:
The WATRS Plus CTAs are: the Atlantic portion of the Miami Oceanic CTA, the CTA of the San Juan FIR and the West Atlantic Route System (WATRS). New WATRS Plus route segments also extend into the airspace of Canada, the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Piarco.
The AIP is the State’s official publication that defines and describes the airspace, aeronautical facilities, services, and national rules and practices pertaining to air traffic, particularly if they differ from ICAO SARPs (so-called “differences” are listed in AIPs).
