Walauwa or walawwa is the name given to a feudal / colonial manor house in Sri Lanka of a native headmen. It also refers to the feudal social systems that existed during the colonial era.

In the Sinhalese social hierarchy, a Wasala walauwa would depict the elegance, uniqueness and financial resources of the individual families and in the village. Many of the walauwas boast aspects of Ceylonese architecture, Dutch and later colonial influences.

The mansion belonged to an aristocratic family in Kandy who were believed to have lived a lavish lifestyle during the early 90s. The original Beragama Walauwa was built in the 1850’s by the late K.
