2024年4月19日 · Detroit Public Television has announced that it has changed its name to Detroit PBS "to reflect our commitment and connection to the ‘Most Important City in America.’" The announcement was made in a release dated April 18.

Detroit Public TV, WTVS Channel 56, a viewer-supported television service for Southeast Michigan and Canada offering a mix of noncommercial programming including PBS favorites like Sesame Street, and Masterpiece; and local programming such as American Black Journal, One Detroit and Detroit Performs.
