The World Schools Debating Championships (WSDC) is a truly global competition for high school debaters. It is held annually and involves more than 70 national teams. Teams from all over the world gather in a battle of minds, discussing a variety of different topics from international relations to economics and sport.

Results of historical WSDC championships

The WSDC normally takes place over the course of ten days. Each national team competes in eight preliminary debates: four prepared debates (the motion having been announced a few weeks before the start of the tournament) and four impromptu debates (for which teams have one hour to prepare).

The Weapon System Designator Code (WSDC) is a three-character code assigned by the DLA or other NATO Codification Bureau to enable coordinated management of stock items by Weapon System Support Program (WSSP).

Among many other debate accolades, they are a two-time WUDC Grand Finalist, Chief Adjudicator of the 2022 Oxford Intervarsity, and the current coach of WSDC Team Vietnam. Tobi is one half of the Ateneo team that won a historic WUDC title in January 2023 - only the second Asian team in history to do so.

What does a WSDC Debate look like? A team that competes at the World Schools Debating Championships (WSDC) is comprised of three to five members. During the debates three of those members will get the chance to speak. All of the members are part of the preparation time right before the debate.
