I had it updated to the previous version, so I was only updating by one version. Vortex deleted all my profiles, and I had to reinstall all my mods and recreate new profiles.

On the few occasions when I've had to fine tune the load order, I've use group assignments. I mentioned this drag feature in Vortex only because (in my opinion) it's the easiest way to make a plugin rule, if you need to make one.
