2021年3月12日 · Ethane Crystal is the first of six very large ethane carrier (VLEC) vessels built by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for Reliance Industries (Reliance). It is the world’s first VLEC and has a similar size to existing very large gas carrier (VLGC) class ships.

Having already made one journey to deliver ethane to Europe, the new VLEC vessel JS INEOS Marlin left the US with its precious cargo of 85,000m3 liquefied ethane gas in July as it began its 18,900 km journey across the Pacific Ocean to Taixing City in Jiangsu province.
