Vinzel (French pronunciation: [vɛ̃zɛl]) is a municipality in the district of Nyon in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. Vinzel has an area, as of 2009, of 1.1 square kilometers (0.42 sq mi). Of this area, 0.73 km 2 (0.28 sq mi) or 67.0% is used for agricultural purposes, while 0.21 km 2 (0.081 sq mi) or 19.3% is forested.

A malakoff is a ball of fried cheese typically found in western Switzerland, more specifically in the villages of Eysins, Begnins, Bursins, Luins, and Vinzel (where it is also called “Vinzel beignet”) on the shores of Lake Leman. [1]

Petite commune du vignoble renommé de l’est du district de Nyon, Vinzel fut bâtie entre l’église Saint-Pierre de Luins et l’église Saint-Martin de Bursins. Vinzel eut autrefois sa chapelle dite de Saint-Pierre, sécularisée par les Bernois, tout comme l’Abbaye de Bonmont dont elle dépendait.
