The Vedas (/ ˈveɪdəz / [4] or / ˈviːdəz /; [5] Sanskrit: वेदः, romanized: Vēdaḥ, lit. 'knowledge'), sometimes collectively called the Veda, are a large body of religious texts originating in ancient India.
