My older boots (1996) made in Italy were great and the replacement pair (2002) made in China were definately not as comfortable and had the inner liner separate after about 300 miles of use. The country of manufacure is stamped inside the tongue. Will research to see what the story is behind this.

Different manufactureers make boots of different shapes, volumn, stiffness, etc. Your feet might love Lowas, My feet like Vasque, His feet like Montrail. My advice is to try on the boots of as many different manufacturers that you can before deciding on your "Wheels".
