My older boots (1996) made in Italy were great and the replacement pair (2002) made in China were definately not as comfortable and had the inner liner separate after about 300 miles of use. The country of manufacure is stamped inside the tongue. Will research to see what the story is behind this.

They have a lot of use and miles on them- the leather uppers are in great shape, as are the treads on the bottom of the sole.
