They used the same EA888 engine in MK6 GTI that was in the late MK5 GTI (2008ish) that carried over ALL of the faults - Timing chain tensioner, plastic water pump, intake manifold, rear main seal, to name a few. 3 generations of that engine ALL with the same faults. There was a class action lawsuit about this engine in the states that VW lost.

2022年2月14日 · This is my 10th VW, 3rd GTI and I also currently own an 84 Vanagon Westfalia and a 70 Porsche 914 so I for sure appreciate the VW heritage and all the classics, IMHO the MkVIII GTI is a well though out and very fun to drive car.
