USS Vincennes (CG-49) was a Ticonderoga -class guided missile cruiser outfitted with the Aegis combat system that was in service with the United States Navy from July 1985 to June 2005. She was one of 27 ships of the Ticonderoga class constructed for the United States Navy and one of five equipped with the Mark 26 Guided Missile Launching System.

The fourth USS Vincennes (CG-49) is a U.S. Navy Ticonderoga class AEGIS guided missile cruiser. In 1988, the ship shot down Iran Air Flight 655 over the Persian Gulf, killing all 290 civilian passengers onboard including 38 non-Iranians and 66 children.

USS VINCENNES is the fourth capital warship to bear this name and a city in Indiana, 55 miles south of Terra Haute. The city is the site of the old Fort Vincennes, captured during the American Revolution in 1779 by George Rogers Clark. The first VINCENNES was one of ten Sloops-of-War to be authorized by Congress in 1825.
