Color is a critical institutional identifier. Blue and gold, used by all 10 campuses, comprise the unifying brand element across the system. For systemwide communications, the University of California’s primary colors are Pantone 299 U (UC Blue) and Pantone 116 U (UC Gold).

The 2 primary colors are "UCI blue" (defined as PMS 7685, CMYK 93/73/11/1, RGB 0/100/164, or HEX #0064a4), and "UCI gold" (defined as PMS 109, CMYK 0/16/100/0, RGB 255/210/0, or HEX #ffd200). uci_1 uses the HEX color definitions.
