Tysfjord or Divtasvuodna [5] [6] is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1869 until its dissolution in 2020. The area is now part of Narvik Municipality and Hamarøy Municipality in the traditional district of Ofoten. Its administrative centre was the village of Kjøpsvik.

Tysfjord lies around the fjord of the same name south-west of Narvik. Fells rise steep up from the fjords, and traditionally the population lived in small villages at the shores or in narrow valleys between the fells, with the waterways along the fjords providing contact with the outer world.

I visited Tysfjord after graduating from university and spent two days on a whale-watching boat in the fjords surveying pods of Orca's. It was the BEST holiday ever. The scenery is stupendous but until you actually witness Orca's in the wild, nothing can prepare you for how truly mind-blowing such an encounter will be.

Den utvider seg like innenfor munningen til et fjordbasseng, Haukøyfjorden. Herfra skjærer Stefjorden seg inn mot øst til det kjente fjellet Stetind som fra en høyde på 1392 moh.
