Hopefully this will make your decision easier. K04-015 Turbocharger is a direct swap. Exhaust Manifold/connections/brackets/Cat bolts are all similar and fit exactly like the K03 unit.

Oct 27, 2004 · The T3/T4 is a type of turbo housing/wheel combination. The Type T3/T4 is made by several manufacturers, of which are slightly different from eachother. The Ko4 is so marginally bigger then the Ko3S that its not worth upgrading unless you get them SUPER cheap (ie free). The K04 is no longer being sold new as it's getting out dated.

Jun 21, 2010 · You will need a fueling kit - inejectors, hitachi-maf, rs4 airbox, etc. Plus an reflash of the ECU to change the program to utilize the new components. Without the ECU and fueling you will get zero additional HP. You can typically buy the fueling kit separate from the turbos.

May 23, 2013 · Trying to compare internal specs between a "normal" K04 and the Frankenturbo F23. The K04-064 has a modern-specification "full back" turbine rotor. What that means is the backplate in the casting carries all the way out to the rotor's widest edges. Dimensionally, it is a 50mm inducer and 44.5mm exducer.

Nov 15, 2010 · The k04 turbo is "technically" a bolt on turbo system to upgrade the k03. Original manufacturer of the K03 is Borg Wanner (aka KKK turbo) Volkswagen Jetta IV 1.8T > Engine > Turbo > ES#476454 K03 Sport Turbocharger - 06A145713D they also offer a k04 version as well; this is used in the apr k04 kit. (i reccomend it highly)
