Type 3 medium tank Chi-Nu (三式中戦車 チヌ, San-shiki chū-sensha Chi-nu, "Imperial Year 2603 Medium tank Model 10") was a medium tank of the Imperial Japanese Army in World War II. Like the Type 1 Chi-He, this tank was an improved version of the Type 97 Chi-Ha. It incorporated a Type 3 75 mm tank gun, one of the largest Japanese tank guns during the war.

The Type 3 Chi-Nu medium tanks were designed between May and Oct 1943 specifically to counter the American M4 Sherman medium tanks. They had the same chassis and suspension systems as the Type 97 Chi-Ha medium tanks, but the new hexagonal gun turrets housed Type 3 75-millimeter tank guns.

The main gun was quite good, as the Japanese tank's design allowed for good penetration of 90mm armor at 100 meters with a muzzle velocity of 2,200 feet per second - the gun became the largest caliber installed on a Japanese Army tank during the war. Self-defense armament is provided by a bow-mounted 7.7mm Type 97 machine gun, nothing more.
