2006年7月8日 · The truss should just rest on the column in order to insure that no moment is transmitted from truss to column. If the top and bottom of the truss is welded or bolted to the column, it will transmit moment from the truss, so truss-column connections should be as similar as possible to a classic roller support.

2020年5月3日 · Yes, simply bolt the truss to the cap plate constitute a pin connection. Note for long span truss, and truss subjects to significant thermal effect, you might want to provide slot holes on one end of truss support to allow axial movement, similar to a roller support.

2010年3月14日 · This is because, as the truss bends down, the bottom chord lengthens (its in tension) and if the far end is fixed laterally (pinned for rotation only) then there will be a resultant lateral force at the pin pushing back against that chord lengthening. With a rolling support, the lateral reactions are zero from bending.
