All Barefoot Saddles are designed anatomically to follow the horse's topline and they are flexible in all dimensions - without a rigid tree. They adjust themselves ideally according to the horse's back and allow powerful strides out of the shoulder as well as arching of the back.

Most treeless saddles provide very little of either one of these two things. A Western or English saddle with a tree is made with a channel down the middle that keeps any part of the saddle from contacting the spinal processes.

What is a treeless saddle? Sometimes referred to as bareback pads, treeless saddles don’t have the fixed, inflexible tree that forms the basis of conventional saddles.
