I am willing to pay for something that looks good and the latest choice is travertine.

2013年4月15日 · They said the act of removing the deck could damage the pool walls. The mentioned the rebar of the pool walls might have been tied into the pool deck. They said since my pool is 15 years old, any concrete cracking is over with and putting the pavers over the current decking is preferred. "The pavers were designed for exactly that".

2020年5月6日 · My pool deck is also pavers (but those were only installed last year). Pavers have to be installed on a properly compacted base and you will have no issues. Is travertine something you really are set on? Travertine is not the best choice in places with freeze thaw cycles and setting it in mortar on a concrete sub base is probably a very bad idea.

2020年4月19日 · Yes I have surcommed to the point this painted pool deck is beyond the stripping and scrapping. (Spent all yesterday with little progress.) I have gotten bids to put travertine pavers on the existing concrete, but have gotten different stories. I have went through and power washed and scarped of any loose paint.

2018年6月8日 · On a related note travertine is used extensively in Northern Italy. When visiting Lake Como I noticed travertine used for pool decks and even sidewalks. Lake Como is almost tropical, but they get freak storms with plenty of rain, snow and below freezing temperatures. Great place to visit for research.

2022年2月23日 · We got cool deck. We have been to friend’s with travertine plus our neighborhood pool has it and it is hot and slippery. There is a huge difference walking on the deck and stepping onto the patio that doesn’t have the texture on it. I can handle the heat on the cool deck but not the bare concrete.

2016年7月11日 · Pavers, cool-deck, etc are common, Travertine is a higher end product. Absolutely nothing wrong with pavers or the others and I have seen some really nice pavers. Everyone that visits our pool comments on the travertine.
