Each region hosts a regional meeting twice each year during the winter and summer public comment periods. If you have never attended a regional meeting before, here's what you can expect.

For the administration of organ allocation and appropriate geographic representation within the OPTN policy structure, the membership is divided into 11 geographic regions. Members belong to the Region in which they are located. The Regions are as follows: Region 1 – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island

2022年1月27日 · The Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) Regions were created in 1986 to help manage the national organ transplant network. The OPTN Regional Review project aims to optimize the effectiveness of OPTN regions.

Transplants are counted as those performed only within the country. Counts for multiorgan or double organ transplants are counted as follows: One double kidney transplant is considered as one transplant. One heart-lung transplant is counted as one lung transplant and one heart transplant. One double lung transplant is considered as one transplant.

The OPTN Regions were created from groupings of Donation Service Areas (DSAs) to help manage the national organ transplant network. These regional boundaries reflected patient referral and organ sharing patterns when they were created in 1986.
