2014年4月23日 · If I remember right, tracert does three pings (actually not pings to the device, but effectively the same) to each device along the route and the the three times are just three different ping times to each device. For example, if you find a device in the list with one or more timeouts, that device is probably overloaded and causing the problems.

The URL I'm trying to hit only works on port 443 and hence beyong certain n/w hop; it just times out/ gives no response. If I try same approach from Linux as well; it fails. 2020年6月29日 · The packet were sent by the tracert command, then Wireshark capture it and the response packet. The problem is that in the Wireshark, i can see the routers those packets were passing but from the tracert command line result, I can't.

I had written a batch script a while back to scan my entire network to get a list of ips and computer networks and it would waste time on the fire wall that wouldnt answer and ip addresses that weren't assigned to any computers.

2011年4月6日 · Stumbled upon this old thread and wanted to say that there is an option to speed up tracert in Windows. tracert -d -w 100-d prevents hostname resolution-w 100 sets the response timeout to 100ms. You may get a missed ping reply if your pinging slow network gear over a VPN or distant MPLS, but it speeds up the tracert to about 40 seconds.
