Thomas James Vilsack (/ ˈ v ɪ l s æ k /; born December 13, 1950) is an American politician. He served as the 30th and 32nd United States secretary of agriculture from 2009 to 2017, during the Obama administration, and again from 2021 to 2025 during the Biden administration.
