Tom Tsao received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, in 1998. He worked on the actuator, for use in control and on integrating the shear stress sensor, actuator, and electronics all on one substrate. He is a Cofounder and the President of Umachines, Inc., Altadena, CA.
