Kapuni is the oldest producing natural gas-condensate field in New Zealand and this mature onshore field is surpassed in original size only by the offshore Maui field. 2023年1月20日 · The Kapuni liquid CO2 plant will build back up to full capacity over the next few months following a safety issue that shut it down in December. Todd Energy, the plant's owners, says it has identified the root cause of the safety issue and is planning a staged production ramp-up which would see it return to full capacity by the end of the year.

Since the initial discovery of the Kapuni field, Todd Energy’s interests in New Zealand’s natural gas resources have continued to grow. Todd’s share of Kapuni increased from 25% to 50%, and then to 100% in 2018 – the same year that the company’s interests in both the Maari and Maua fields were divested.
