2001年1月6日 · Anyway, I was looking at the new Aragon 2005 200w/ch five channel amp and was wondering if any members have had a listen. I know Aragon's reputation through Mondial is excellent but I guess the jury's still out on the new design with Klipsch. It is interesting to note that the newer 2005 THX Ultra2 model is $1500 less than the older 8008x5 model.

2018年7月24日 · THX was a decent idea, but in the end it was just 90% marketing. It had a certain way of standardizing things, the volume of soundtracks in particular, but those guidelines are easy to follow without paying a royalty. Before THX, I found DVD soundtrack volume levels did tend to vary quite a bit, but later that mostly went away.

2005年3月14日 · Just for clarification:The old THX has become THX Ultra after THX select was created.THX Ultra2 was created mainly for the THX EX surround[7.1] enviroment,and shows up mostly on receivers, processors,subs. I've heard conflicting info on this but nothing definitive.To be honest I don't think it's much on the unit/unit bases.

2008年2月21日 · All THX Certified DVDs from Star Wars Episode One on include the THX Optimizer. Nearly all THX dvds from 2000 (beginning with Fight Club) and most from 2001 (I think the old edition of Close Encounters was the last) use the old THX Optimode which is nearly impossible to set up on anything other than a CRT.

2005年6月13日 · Some "THX" certified speaker stands that look to be nothing for than pretty basic aluminum stands, only 350 bucks. Some basis, but pretty, monitors, only 600 bucks a piece. My friends, I think we have another BOSE! (okay, I think it's obvious these are better than anything BOSE offers, but they are also Obviously nearly as overpriced.

2004年2月29日 · You must audition for yourself if they are right for your room. The 150's are THX speakers and have a very narrow vertical dispersion as per spec. You must aim the tweeters directly at the listening position, the same as a professional recording speaker. The bass response is better than the 850's. They image better, and have more dynamic range.

1999年10月4日 · THX didn't mandate a tradeoff of output over frequency extension, but a manufacturer, like M&K, who EQ'd some of their subs to an f3 of 20Hz, could retune that EQ to get that same sub to meet the THX output spec, which only called for extension down to 30Hz in the '90s. Today the THX output requirement extends down to 20Hz.
