The CAC is composed of residents of the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area who represent a diverse and broad cross‐section of interests, concerns and ideas. The CAC acts as a sounding board to TPT staff’s programming ideas and offers advice on and has an opportunity to influence TPT’s programming and services.

Twin Cities Public Television, Inc. (abbreviated TPT, doing business as Twin Cities PBS[4]) is a nonprofit organization based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States, that operates the Twin Cities ' two PBS member television stations, KTCA-TV (channel 2.1) and KTCI-TV (channel 2.3), both licensed to Saint Paul.

In August 2015, KTCA/KTCI rebranded from "Twin Cities Public Television" to "Twin Cities PBS" (albeit retaining the "TPT" sub-brand introduced with the 1999 co-branding of the stations) to highlight their status as the PBS member stations for the Minneapolis–St. Paul market.

Twin Cities PBS is a PBS affiliate located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul "Twin Cities" area. The primary station, KTCA, went on the air on September 16, 1955, while KTCI, the secondary station, went on the air on May 4, 1965.

Twin Cities PBS also serves the Mankato market (via K26CS-D [relaying KTCA] and K29IE-D [relaying KTCI] in nearby St. James through the local municipal-operated Cooperative TV [CTV] network of translators), as that area does not have a PBS member station of its own.
