2019年5月14日 · not surprised at the tds in my tanks. I was curious If the tds of 180 in the remineralized RO water (before being added to the tanks) indicated a soft water reading. As I thought a GH of 4 is considered soft. Or does tds not always correlate with water hardness? As the poster above stated, it probably doesn’t matter.

Now I ignore kh and ph beyond my set points totally ignore kh and gh for water changes. Set it with buffer then just do changes according to tds ONLY This is how bad my tap water is. Ph 8.6-9, kh 10ppm, gh 225. TDS 300.

2020年12月6日 · Sodium and potassium do not show up in GH, but they affect TDS. Sulfates and chlorides do not show up in KH, but they affect TDS. Every aquarium will have a specific TDS range that is suitable based on your source water, added minerals and buffers, added fertilizers, stocking density, etc. My tanks run about 400 TDS.
