2021年11月28日 · I have a 75 gallon tank (4') and am considering using either one or two T5 bulbs plus some LEDs in the middle to flesh out whatever spectrum is missing. I've read through tons of stuff from the general lighting threads so have a decent handle on the spectrum I want. The question is how to go about it.

2014年3月3日 · As for keeping SPS under T5's, it is completely possible. However, there are certainly factors that contribute to successful keeping of high light corals under T5. Reflector quality, number of bulbs, bulb quality, depth of tank, coral placement etc are all important.

2016年11月29日 · Use an 8 bulb, but use 4 Blue +, 2 Coral +, 1 Purple and 1 actinic. Going to replace one of the coral + with an actinic for the 2 bulb channel. I really like the actinics a lot. 2024年1月14日 · T5 is the most cost efficient way to light a high light tank today, specifically ATI fixtures. You can light a 6' tank with bulbs brand new for $850 (way cheaper used today). Par over 700 up high, 200+ on sand with blanket coverage. Bulbs will go 18 months with a little par reduction regardless of what regurgitation you read on here.

2016年3月13日 · While I agree LEDs can grow SPS, I also think there is a reason most of the nicer SPS tanks use a T5 or T5 with LED supplement. I'm not a band wagon person; I will acknowledge the success of single point light sources (LEDs and MH), however I believe a quality T5 fixture is simply the best lighting option for SPS.

2021年10月22日 · I ran icecap ballasts for a long time and they overdrive the bulbs. It was typical to find 3 or 4 bulbs out of the 24 I purchased to not work and since I ran a multitude of bulb colors it didnt make sense to purchase extra (in my mind). I eventually swapped back to mh and t5 accent bulbs run by wh ballasts 12-18 month bulb life.
